So, here we are again. This place might seem dead but it isn’t! Or at least it’s not supposed to be. A mixture of laziness and stress prevented me from posting which, I guess, is the same for Lumy. I had a lot of important exams to write and work has been busy. But I still did stuff!
For answers on just what I did and what kind of posts you can expect in the coming weeks, just read on!
So, yeah… the Summer Season started. I won’t talk about that too much because, frankly, it’s been underwhelming. I’m watching Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita and Sword Art Online and that’s it when it comes to new shows. As for the old ones, I’m still watching Hyouka and Eureka Seven AO. So not as much on the anime front.
I still might post about some of these in the coming weeks. I read the first four Volumes of SAO (and the side stories they’re currently animating), and while I enjoyed them, as they’re easy to read, I really want to point out some flaws in both the source material and the adaption. I even think the adaption does a better job at this point when it comes to some of them… but I guess they can’t change everything that’s bothering me and they’re bound to introduce new stuff that will bother me even more – It can’t be helped, coming from the person who wrote Accel World…
As for JinTai and E7AO. Well, there’s not much to write about these shows. Sure, I think a lot of stuff when I watch JinTai and I really like the show. But if I started writing about it, I would just digress into the themes it’s portraying and how I think it’s more accurate then we’d like to think. And that would be boring and depressing at the same time. A post about E7 would probably be similarly boring, as I don’t really think at all when I watch that. I still might rant about it, but it would be short because… well… I enjoy the show and I don’t even have a reason for enjoying it.
We will see about current season posts from me. Expect at least one.
Now, I also played some video games. Or should I say “I’m currently playing some video games”? Because, as usual, I haven’t finished any game yet (heck, I’m not even done with Final Fantasy XIII-2 and I bought that in December).
You can expect a review of Time Travelers (3DS version) one of these days. I am nearly done with it and not sure what to think. It’s like 428 and Heavy Rain had a Japanese child that tries to be both but is neither. There’s a lot of stuff I want to say about this game, but I realize that this post will be very hard to write, as I don’t want to spoil any of you on the off-chance that you understand Japanese or on the even more unlikely one that this game will be localised.
Why am I sure that it won’t be? I’m not, but the game bombed in Japan, which is too bad, because it’s a good game and it’s apparent that a lot of work went into it. I blame advertising (not that there wasn’t enough, it just wasn’t right).
So yeah, expect more on that when I’m done with the game, which will probably be this weekend.
I’m also playing Dragon’s Dogma (PS3) very, very, very slowly. I just wanted to see what all the fuss is about. Turns out is probably because the Japanese just like games where they can create lolis, fairies and whatnot as their companions (and I’m not even kidding, every Pawn I rented from a Japanese player has been female and has had fairy-ears or was shorter than 150 centimeters). I guess the fact that it plays a lot like Monster Hunter also helps.
It’s a fun little game, but too hard sometimes and I have no freaking idea where to go most of the time. That the game has no auto-levelling mechanism so you can go anywhere whenever you like doesn’t help in that regard because when I venture out I most likely get killed because I took 5 steps too many in the wrong direction.
Once I’m done with Time Travelers I will either play Kingdom Hearts 3D (3DS), Sekaijuu no Meikyuu IV (Etrian Odyssey IV, also on 3DS) or Nayuta no Kiseki (PSP). Depending on my mood I might also go back to Persona 4: The Golden (Vita) which I haven’t played a lot lately because, well, I already played Persona 4 and other games have priority. We will see.
That’s about it. This post should just enumerate what I’ve been up to and what you can expect from me. Not that anyone is reading anything we write here yet. With good reason. I will write more, now that I have the time. I hope.
There will be at least one Anime related post this month and at least one next month, as the Tiger & Bunny Movie airs in London in September and Lumy and I will be going to see that. So you can expect a review shortly after that.
So, look forward to all that and stay. Please? (人’ｗ’ ♥ )
